
Neil Blasdale
Neil Bleasdale holds a BA (Hons) from Leeds University, earned in 1978. He began his professional career at Lloyds Bank International (1979–1991), where he held various roles in London, Uruguay, Argentina, Peru, and Brazil—ultimately serving as Head of International Capital Markets in São Paulo.
In 1991, he joined ING Bank in Amsterdam as Chief Officer of Corporate Finance within the Emerging Markets Group. He later served as Managing Director of Corporate and Investment Banking at ING Barings in Buenos Aires from 1994 to 1997.
Between 1997 and 2008, Mr. Bleasdale was Finance Director at Supercanal Holding S.A. and Uno Medios S.A. He joined the board of EDEMSA (Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad de Mendoza S.A.) in 2006 as Deputy Chairman and was appointed President in March 2008. He went on to serve as CEO of EDEMSA from 2008 to 2021.
In parallel, he was a Board Member of Andes Energía PLC from 2006 to 2012, acting as Chairman from 2007 to 2012. He also served as a director of HDS, the controlling shareholder of Hidroeléctrica Ameghino S.A.
In June 2021, Mr. Bleasdale became President and CEO of EDENOR, Argentina’s largest electricity distribution company.
In addition to his executive roles, he served for 15 years on the board of ADEERA (Asociación de Distribuidores de Energía Eléctrica de la República Argentina) and was also a director of Valos, a Mendoza-based NGO dedicated to promoting corporate social responsibility.
