Movistar Fibra: Recognized as the Best Internet Network in Peru by Ookla®

International recognition for our technology partner, Movistar Perú, for its leadership in connectivity and video streaming experience nationwide.

During the forum “Advances and Perspectives on Fixed Internet for Peru’s Development,” held in Lima, Movistar Perú was honored with the prestigious Speedtest Awards™ by Ookla®, the global leader in internet speed testing. The company was awarded for having the “Best Internet Network in Peru” for the first half of 2025, and additionally recognized for delivering the “Best Video Streaming Experience”.

This recognition was based on over 2.9 million speed tests conducted by Peruvian users on the Speedtest platform between January and June 2025. The evaluation considered download and upload speeds, latency, and overall stability during streaming services—areas in which Movistar Fibra performed exceptionally.

Luis Acuña, Marketing Director at Movistar Perú, stated:

“This recognition reflects the sustained improvement of our network. Today, nearly 80% of our fixed internet customers are connected through fiber optics, allowing us to deliver a superior experience to over one million households across 23 regions of the country.”

The award ceremony took place as part of a multi-sectoral forum organized by Peru’s Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), and included participation from industry leaders and public authorities such as:

  • Juan Pablo Miranda, Director General of Communications Policy and Regulation, MTC

  • Javier Salinas, President of ConfiPerú
